Swaziland, training part 2

Going back to Swaziland was like coming home! We got a warm welcome from the board members of the River Basin Authorities (RBA's) Komati and Lomati and the irrigation district. The RBA's are going to start this year. These RBA’s have a twinning relationship with the Dutch Regional water authority Vechtstromen.

Project meeting AquaVet in Greece

The fourth meeting of the Erasmus+ AQUAVET project was held on 19 and 20 April 2016 in Madrid, Spain. Partners gathered from Greece, the UK, the Netherlands and Spain to recap on progress since the 3rd project meeting (in Utrecht, October 2015); and to discuss current issues and plans for future actions. On behalf of World Water Academy, Johan Oost and Nienke Elijzen (expert in e-learning) attended this meeting.

Process Controller exchange for Centre of Expertise

Process Controller exchange for Centre of Expertise

From 21 November to 2 December six process controllers from wastewater treatment facilities of the metropolises Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban will come over to the Netherlands for an exchange programme. Main aim is to learn and experience the Dutch practice on the plants. This exchange is part of the project Centre of Expertise Water in South Africa, which aims introduction of new technologies and capacity development in the South African water sector.

Nereda Academy

New: Granular Activated Sludge Technology

The Nereda®Academy offers a new course Granular Activated Sludge Technology.

In this course you learn to understand the process principles and key-characteristics of Granular Activated Sludge technology and how to prepare high-level process designs and quantify operation consumables for Granular Activated Sludge applications.

WASH training in emergency in Myanmar

Two days ago, World Water Academy (WWA) won a project for the design of modules with training materials and delivery of WASH training in emergency context together with MDF in Yangon. WWA will cooperate with Netherlands Red Cross for this UNICEF Myanmar project.

By the end of the period: local stakeholders have the capacity to assess, develop, plan, implement, monitor and report on WASH related responses to future disasters with considerations to humanitarian principles (ToR).
