World Water Academy co-organised World Water Day in the Netherlands on the 24th of March in the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague.
Since the first World Water Day on 22 March 1993, this event has been held annually. By this event the United Nations wants to keep emphasizing the importance of water. The theme of this years World Water Day was Water and Jobs.
Aqua for all and NWP initiated the event for World Water Day in the Netherlands. The day was filled with prominent and inspirational keynote speakers, such as Henk Ovink (Waterenvoy) and Brigitta Kramer (Manager Sustainability Vitens). They brought up various interesting topics, like the waterchallenges that the world is facing, the importance of sharing knowledge on water, biodiversity and the use of data. And both stressed the need that more can be accomplished by working together on an international level.
World Water Academy and the National Water traineeship facilitated one of the workshops. The subject was: Talent Management. Talent Management is a hot topic right now, but what does it really mean? And how do you execute this in a company? Over 70 people participated in this workshop and learned more about Talent Management in the water sector and their own role and possibilities in the development of talent.
World water day was much appreciated by the participants! This was the first time it was organised with so many different partners, which resulted in a varied and successful programme.
