In January 2014, Daniela Radulescu (National Institute for Hydrology and Water Management) and Agnes Maenhout (World Water Academy) signed an agreement in order to strengthen relations and come up with common projects on capacity development, see our Press-release: Lifelong learning on flood risk management in Romania. Now, after two years, both partners agreed to extend the co-operation. Read more
The River Basin Authorities (RBA's) Komati and Lomati in Swaziland have a twinning relationship with the Dutch Regional water authority Vechtstromen. This relationship includes a training of the governing boards of these newly created RBA's.

The fourth meeting of the Erasmus+ AQUAVET project was held on 19 and 20 April 2016 in Madrid, Spain. Partners gathered from Greece, the UK, the Netherlands and Spain to recap on progress since the 3rd project meeting (in Utrecht, October 2015); and to discuss current issues and plans for future actions. In February of 2016, World Water Academy (WWA) and Waterleidingmaatschappij Limburg (WML) (as partner of Vitens Evides International (VEI) executed a course development project with the City of Cape Town. This project was under the umbrella of the Centre of Expertise for Water in South Africa.
The City of Cape Town has several so-called ‘lines' for responding to calamities and complaints in the water reticulation system. Read more
A Bolivian delegation visited Germany and the Netherlands from 27 February until 6 March 2016. The Bolivian officials work at municipalities and the Department of Resources and Environment. They are participating in a project with Aquanet and GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit). The project participants were introduced to the German and Dutch Water supply Sector. The delegation visited World Water Academy in Nieuwegein on Friday 4 March to learn about capacity building. Agnes presented the goal, the quality assurance, and the business model of World Water Academy. Read more
Three new editions of Wetskills will be organised during the next months. Wetskills in South Africa will start on the 6th of May. AquaDactics is one of the case owners. A team of 3 or 4 young professionals and students will be challenged in the two-weeks programme themed Unlocking experiential knowledge. Read more
World Water Academy co-organised World Water Day in the Netherlands on the 24th of March in the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague.
Since the first World Water Day on 22 March 1993, this event has been held annually. By this event the United Nations wants keep emphasizing the importance of water. The theme of this years World Water Day was Water and Jobs. Read more
